3 Ways to Optimize Your Job Search Now!
Spring is almost here and so is one of the busiest hiring seasons. Get the most out of this time by optimizing your job search with these 3 quick tips.
Get informational interviews
One of the ways to get your job search going in a positive direction is to connect with people in the role(s) you want and interview them. Send an email or ask a friend to connect you to someone working in the job or field you are interested in. Find out more about the job you love or the career you have been searching for by talking to people who are doing it. Ask them about what they like, how they got the job and some of the key skills for the role. Don’t forget to thank each interviewee for their time.
Share your interests
Some of the most valuable resources are your parents, friends and your network. Share your interests with them and ask them to connect you with people who may be in your area of expertise. Expand your interests to social media. Don’t be afraid to get social and share a quick video on LinkedIn about what you are looking for and what you will bring to your next employer. Get out of your comfort zone and share your interests.
A quick way to get more done is to focus. Spreading yourself thin can result in limited productivity and lots of frustration. Get focused by narrowing down what you are looking for and focusing on that. It’s nice to apply to lots of jobs and hope for the best. However, it is better and more effective to double-down and focus on one role and put all your efforts into it.
Get in the game and optimize your job search by talking to people in your field, sharing what you are looking for and focusing on what you really want and going after it strategically.
